Karin is the principal and founder of A Proposed Organization, LLC, a firm that provides consulting services for performance optimization in the built environment. Tapping into ten years of experience in Chicago, Portland and New York, she supports a full spectrum of projects types including sustainability strategy, research, certification coordination, and educational curriculum development.
While in Chicago, Karin was actively involved with the Metropolitan Placemaking Committee, served on the board of Architecture for Humanity Chicago, and co-facilitated the Living Building Challenge Collaborative. She co-developed a design competition for a school annex at the Eli Whitney Elementary School in Little Village, increasing awareness of the sustainability standard and creating dialogue between the school, community, local universities and peer organizations. Passionate about connecting individuals and networks, Karin seeks opportunities to identify common goals, encourage unexpected partnerships and shift perspectives around the built environment.
Karin holds a Masters of Urban Planning from the Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelors Degree in Program in the Environment from the University of Michigan. She is Living Future Accredited, a WELL AP and a LEED AP ND, O+M, and BD+C.
