Pam Sydelko

Pamela Sydelko is the Director of the Systems Science Center, which is part of the Global Security Sciences Division at Argonne National Laboratory.  As a soil scientist and geographical information system specialist, Ms. Sydelko’s early career focused on integrated environmental and land management research and the development of spatio/temporal modeling applications.  Over the last 30 years, she has led the development of numerous innovative modeling, analysis and decision support technologies, focusing on integrated multi-component software systems in diverse domains such as environmental science, energy, and homeland/national security.  

Recently, Ms. Sydelko has been working on her PhD in Systems Science at the University of Hull, UK where she is applying systems thinking approaches within the context of addressing very complex problems requiring the integration of multiple methods and technologies. 

Ms. Sydelko earned her MBA from the University of Chicago, her M.S. in Soil Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her B.S. in Botany/Ecology from North Dakota State University.
